In short, American Idol producers and whoever else decides these things saw a huge need to keep Sanjaya in there so we had a reason to come back each week. They needed controversy to keep viewers watching the show. And let's not forget one thing: American Idol is about ratings and putting on a TV show people love to hate but can't stay away from. It's not about those individuals getting up there each week to play out their "idol dreams".

In those days everybody was going by buses and we shared the same bus. I think we made about 15 stops between San Diego and Seattle. We were staying in the same hotels, so we started talking and going to the movies and doing whatever you do during the day.
The guitar riff at the beginning of Sweet Home Alabama is as memorable as anything that's every been played on the radio. It's easy enough to figure out but fun enough to play that beginners absolutely love it. You can learn this song on an acoustic or electric guitar and it sounds great.
Air Supply rocked this arena, and Russell, Graham, Jed, Jonni and Mike's performances were exhilarating. But, and there's often a but, one band member's performance was HOT HOT HOT! Bassist Jonni Lightfoot is an incredible and talented guitarist who always pleases fans and makes the girls swoon. Hottie Jonni, as he is affectionately known, was in rare form this Sunday night and while he may not appreciate my saying this, his performance stole the show. You all know I give credit when performances are outstanding or otherwise memorable, and Jonni's was both.
